Fusion Sheffield was a mammoth scheme of 858 beds that opened in 2021. Located perfectly between the two Universities, the concept of the building was to create a highly-social, experience-led accommodation that would enhance the award-winning student lifestyle in the city.
It is now operated by CRM and under the building name Cosmos.

Live + Relax
Sheffield saw the launch of Fusion’s brand-new room concept – the Club Studio. Available in 5,6,7 and 8-bed apartments, the Club Studio is designed for students that want the best of both worlds. It has the privacy of your own ensuite and kitchenette in your room as well as a separate shared kitchen and living area to socialise in.
Also available in the building were 4, 6, 7, 8, and 10-bed ensuite apartments. These were incredibly popular with first- and second-year students. The remaining rooms were a mix of studios, premium studios, accessible studios and one-bedroom apartments.
Socialise + Study
With 858 beds and a wide range of different room-types, we had to design the vast social space to appeal to a large group of students.
The social area was split across two floors and across two different buildings to maximise the community within the building.
We created a dedicated event space with fridge and cooking facilities, dubbed The Pantry because of its design. Also encouraging that community spirit, we had two private dining areas, break-out gaming, TV and KTC rooms and a study Library for collaborative learning.
LIVE WELL + BE WELL
Fitness is a way of life. That’s why we had both indoor and outdoor basketball courts at this scheme, a gym area and outdoor yoga igloos. Everything was thoughtfully designed to encourage an active, healthy lifestyle.
